Frequently Asked Questions

  1. What can you expect to find in the condo? Are grocery stores nearby?

    • We try to stock the following: kitchen garbage bags, paper towels, toilet paper, laundry detergent, Keurig K-Cups, tea bags, sweeteners, and packs of pre-measured coffee for the drip pot (each package makes about 8 cups). You might also find aluminum foil and food storage bags, Please note use of the word “try.” It’s just not possible to keep everything stocked all the time. You will be pleased to see the proximity of two grocery stores, Publix and Food Lion. They are a very short drive - walking distance for many of our guests.

  2. How do the TVs work?

    • Internet TVs are tricky. Figuring out someone else’s is even harder - especially when they have multiple remotes. Using the Roku remote in the family room means that you need only one remote to access premium and cable channels.

    • After turning the power on with the Roku remote, hit the “home” button at the top right of the remote. You will see streaming channels such as Netflix to sign in with your own password (be sure to sign out when you check out). Through Spectrum Cable, you also have access to typical cable channels (CBS, NBC, ABC, Fox, ESPN, CNN, etc.).

    • If you see an option to “Power On” Roku, please click “OK” to “Power On.” If you see icons for TV channels across the bottom of your screen, just hit the home button and enter your desired channel again.

    • The bedroom TV has two remotes. Turn on the TV with the LG remote. If you don’t have live TV right away, push the button on the front top left of the cable box. Cable TV should turn on right away. Channels can be changed with the Spectrum remote. The bedroom TV is not an internet TV. Please do not - under any circumstances - move the TVs so that you can watch Netflix in bed (it has happened and it is impossible for you or our cleaning service to reconfigure TVs).

  3. What about a grill?

    • The community grill out near the parking lot is in bad shape, so I removed it from the list of amenities. You’ll notice some people with portable grills on the grass between their condos and the pool. If you bring a grill, it’s not allowed on either deck or under the building.

  4. Can I check in early?

    • Maybe, but it’s best to plan on 4 PM. We enjoy a fabulous relationship with a really wonderful cleaning service. If they finish early, I’ll always reach out and let you know. But the possibility (and timing) of an early check-in cannot be confirmed before the day of check-in. Reach out in advance of your stay if you have more specific questions.

  5. Why was there a musty smell when I checked in?

    • The air is very humid near the beach and the condo can get a slight musty smell when it’s been closed up for a couple of days with minimal circulation. Turning the ceiling fan on and opening the door gets everything back to normal. The DampRid Moisture Absorber in the bathroom helps to combat this.

  6. What do I need to bring?

    • Beach chairs and umbrella

    • Beach towels

    • Paper products (we’ll get you started with a roll of paper towels and several rolls of toilet paper).
